Brother Cadfael is a fictional character in a series of books by Ellis Peters - brought to the small screen by Mystery on PBS starring Derek Jacobi (pictured above). Cadfael is a Benedictine Monk in 12th Century Britain who has a worldly past as a soldier, traveler and crusader before being called to the Church. He has a rational and inquisitive view of his environment and is a first rate criminalist (by 12th century standards) who solves murders and other crimes in the stories that feature his adventures. I have always thought of Cadfael as a seeker of truth - and therefore an appropriate inspiration and title for these pages.
I live in Central Florida, working as a Court Mediator. I have a wide range of experiences and accumulated impressions.
I consider politics to be the intersection of history and current events. The importance of the 2012 campaign cycle cannot be overstated. Our nation is on the brink and the candidates of the political parties call for WE THE PEOPLE to make serious choices during the next year about what kind of a nation we want to be.
